BROTHER ALI (US) is one of the strongest acts from the alternative hip hop scene. He takes lyrical snapshots of social issues such as crime and homelessness. The dense flow of themes and issues never leaves the audience with a heavy mind. The albino rapper’s fiery tirades are delivered on top of wonderfully orchestrated soul music.

KASPER SPEZ (DK) is a differently thoughtful and bohemian-romantic MC who draws as much on Serge Gainsbourg as Sage Francis. He portrays life in the 20s with harrowing honesty, so many will recognise the stories of nightlife binges and hangovers. An organic hip hopexperience that also appeals to audiences who do not care for bling and backward caps.

TECH N9NE (US) is one of the most successful underground hip hop acts. Only few have a flow like Tech N9ne who with uncanny precision is able to switch between crushing hyper-speed and crawling slow motion in his rap. Tech N9ne almost made Roskilde’s Odeon stage explode in 2006, and many have dreamed of his return. This wet hip hop dream is now a reality – to the delight of old fans and new converts who were lured into the fold the last time around.

Ha banda por semana, llega el festival y no lo confirman todo al 100%.

Comunicado oficial.

ALICE IN CHAINS (US) visits Roskilde Festival – for the first time ever in the band’s over 20-year-long existence.

Alice in Chains is part of the proudest flag bearers of the Seattle scene along with Nirvana and Pearl Jam. However, they show more muscle than lumberjack shirts, and a classic such as Dirt can easily be considered one of the best hard rock albums of the 90s.

With Black Gives Way to Blue from 2009, Alice in Chains has made an album that measures up to the classic material. So the band’s first visit at Roskilde Festival could not have a better timing.

The original lead singer Layne Staley died in 2002, but the replacement named William Duvall has a voice that compensates well for the loss.

Me voy a empezar a cagar en el festival ya....

BEACH HOUSE will have an unforgettable year in 2010 – not only because they will play their first Roskilde Festival concert. The duo's third album Teen Dream is an early contestant as one of 2010's lasting masterpieces. Beach House’s stately dream pop is full of intense, concentrated atmosphere, and Victoria Legrand has one of the strongest voices with her sonorous, mournful sound.

DIRTY PROJECTORS belong in the same skewed hall of fame as Byrne, Bowie and Eno. In 2009, front man Dave Longstreth and his band released the crooked masterpiece Bitte Orca, a mixture of African sounds, US indie and R&B. As a live band Dirty Projectors are also in a league of their own, and we look forward to presenting them at Roskilde Festival.

HEALTH belongs in the experimental and noisy end of the indie spectrum – the same place where you meet previous Roskilde bands such as No Age and Black Dice. With nihilistic noise, the L.A. punk band offers a wonderful ear massage for everyone with a comfortably depraved taste in music.

British sounds coming up
This week's bands are all stars and stripes. Next week we will jump back to our own side of the Atlantic. We expect a batch of British acts to fall into place, which we look forward to sharing with you in a very near future.

Los nombres están bien, pero sí se echa de menos una tandaca de esas que te sorprenden.

Joder...es que por ahora casi todo lo que merece la pena está en el PS y no es normal que sólo tengan 3/4 nombres gordos...

Pues si, es lo que venimos comentando, parece que no esta siendo un año demasiado bueno para las contrataciones de grandes nombres....

La unica opcion que se me ocurre, es que los ultimos años, la rueda de prensa no traia nada y antes de abril ya se sabia todo lo gordo...Espero que se esten guardando lo gordo para entonces...

KASABIAN are England’s new superstars, and on their latest album, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, they really unfold their strong-on-refrains but also experimental Brit rock. The band continues the tradition from Oasis, Primal Scream and The Stone Roses but also chases new sounds. In the UK, they are presented with the biggest font sizes on magazine front-pages and festival posters. The concert at Roskilde Festival is Kasabian's very first on Danish soil.

WILD BEASTS play mystical, moonstruck and melodic indie pop that would make both Morrissey and Brett Anderson nod proudly in approval. The band’s second album – Two Dancers from 2009 – fulfills the promises made on the debut album from the year before: pop, folk, funk and cabaret combined in an original wrapping from a band that is already confident about its musical mission.

Es lo bueno de estos festivales, nunca fallan.
