Dear Pukkelpopper,
On 28th September the disaster that hit Pukkelpop was recognized as a natural disaster by the Federal Council of Ministers. After a thorough investigation the Hasselt Public Prosecutor ruled that the Pukkelpop organization had made no mistakes and therefore cannot be held liable. One unfortunate result of this ruling is that the civil liability insurance we had taken out cannot be used to compensate third parties for damages suffered during the Pukkelpop storm.
Pukkelpop sympathizes with all Pukkelpoppers who - like the organizers - have not been able to enjoy the festival as they should have because of the disastrous weather conditions. In spite of the force majeure ruling and the fact that the expenses for Pukkelpop 2011 far exceeded the benefits, the Pukkelpop organization does not wish to leave those who bought a ticket for Pukkelpop 2011 out in the cold. That is why we have decided to offer restitution not only to those Pukkelpoppers who have left their email address, shortcode and questions about possible reimbursement of entrance tickets and food & drink tickets on the Pukkelpop website, but to everyone who bought a Pukkelpop 2011 ticket online.
This is how it works:
The online buyers of e-tickets for Pukkelpop 2011 will receive an email with a link which will allow them to download free ‘Food & Drink Vouchers' for the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Pukkelpop editions. Between Tuesday 1st November and Monday 14th November this link will be emailed to all online ticket buyers.
The value of the allocated vouchers will be approximately the same as the price of the day- or combi-tickets.
If the price of the food & drink tickets should rise in the future, the value of the vouchers will rise accordingly.
- One (1) food & drink ticket is now worth € 2.5.
- The buyer of a day-ticket can download three (3) vouchers for the next three (3) editions. Each voucher is now worth € 25, the equivalent of ten (10) food & drink tickets per edition.
- The buyer of a combi-ticket will be able to download three (3) vouchers for the next three (3) editions. Each voucher is now worth € 50, the equivalent of twenty (20) food & drink tickets per edition.
All Pukkelpoppers can decide to use all the vouchers themselves, to give them to other festivalgoers at their own risk, or not to make use of them at all and in this way support the continued existence of the Pukkelpop festival.
The vouchers are offered as a courtesy by the Pukkelpop organizers under reservation of all their rights and without any acknowledgment prejudicial to their rights.
The vouchers are an exclusive form of restitution to each festivalgoer who bought a Pukkelpop 2011 ticket online. This implies that any other form of restitution, reimbursement or compensation for entrance tickets and/or food & drink tickets purchased for Pukkelpop 2011 is excluded.
The practical info about how to download the vouchers can be found below and also on www.pukkelpop.be under the heading ‘Restitution'.
A few days before the start of the online ticket sale for Pukkelpop 2012, all Pukkelpoppers who bought one or more Pukkelpop 2011 tickets online will be given the opportunity to buy their e-tickets online.
Pukkelpop 2012 will take place on Thursday 16th, Friday 17th and Saturday 18th August.
All of the above allows us to say that Pukkelpop will continue in its original form: three days, eight stages, a mixture of the best bands, DJs and sideshows of the moment combined with a distinctive focus on artists of tomorrow.
The consequences of our decision to pay restitution will weigh heavily on Pukkelpop, the festival as well as the organizers, in the coming years.
You can support the continued existence of Pukkelpop by not, or only partly, using the vouchers. We will respect whatever decision you make and we wish to thank you once again for your patience and understanding.

RESTITUTION FOR PUKKELPOP 2011 ONLINE TICKETS: PRACTICAL
WHAT WILL YOU RECEIVE?
Ticket buyers will receive vouchers that can be exchanged for food & drink tickets. Each food & drink ticket is now worth € 2.5.
The buyers of one or more day-tickets for Pukkelpop 2011 will receive a link by email with which they can download 3 vouchers per day-ticket, one for each of the next three Pukkelpop editions: 2012, 2013 and 2014. WHO WILL RECEIVE THE LINK?
Between Tuesday 1st November and Monday14th November 2011 each buyer of (an) online Pukkelpop ticket(s) will receive an email with a link to download the vouchers. We will use the same email addresses that buyers gave us when they ordered the tickets for Pukkelpop 2011. Only those who placed the original order will receive the link.
WHEN WILL YOU RECEIVE THE LINK?
De link will be sent between Tuesday 1st November and Monday 14th November.
WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE LINK BY 15 NOVEMBER?
If you ordered your Pukkelpop 2011 tickets via your email address and you have not received the link to download the vouchers by Tuesday 15th November, you can notify servicedesk@pptickets.be until 12 midnight on Sunday 11th December. Do not forget to mention your name, address and phone number.
HOW LONG WILL THE LINK REMAIN ACTIVE?
The link will remain active until 12 midnight on Sunday 11th December 2011. After this date it will be impossible to download vouchers. By not downloading the vouchers which you are entitled to, you automatically renounce all entitlement to any form of restitution, reimbursement and/or compensation for entrance and food & drink tickets purchased for Pukkelpop 2011.
I WANT TO SUPPORT PUKKELPOP!
When you click on the link, you can indicate whether you want to download vouchers for one, two or all three editions. Indicating that you will not - or only partly - use the vouchers means that you wish to support the continued existence of the Pukkelpop festival. The choice is entirely yours, but we can certainly use your support in the coming years.
PRINT AND STORE SAFELY
Very important: print your voucher(s) immediately and keep it/them in a safe place. Save a PDF file on your computer. Do not forget that these vouchers can be downloaded only once. Even if lost, they cannot be downloaded a second time.
